I’m a Ph.D. candidate in History at the Catholic University of America, and an adjunct professor in the Washington, D.C. metro area. I’m also a purple belt in Gracie Jiu Jitsu at Gracie NoVa, a yoga teacher, and a long-time practicioner of an eclectic blend of yoga styles. My academic specialties are religious history, especially modern religious history, and Cold War history. I can never figure out whether I’m a jiu jitsu person with a yoga problem, a yoga person with a jiu jitsu problem, or maybe just an academic with several thriving interests outside of academia. In this blog, I try to fuse all my disparate interests into one, semi-coherent, unique perspective.
